Adjunct Academic Advisor (Part-Time)
Position Type Faculty Department Counseling Work Location: Main Campus Duties As a member of the Academic Advising Center & New Student Orientation, the Academic Advisor:Bachelor’s degree and related experience, training, and knowledge in individual and group advising process related to college student academic and personal development required.
Preferred: Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of community college students. Qualifications This position requires a strong commitment to student-centered learning that focuses on the development and success of the student; candidates should possess knowledge of academic advising theories and practices that support teaching, learning, and human development; prior experience working with a variety of students that include various levels of academic preparedness, multicultural and linguistic diversity, and economic status; individuals with fluency in more than one language are encouraged to apply. Position Status Part Time Hours Hours will vary – approximately 27 hours per week expected Evening and occasional weekend hours will be needed. Closing at least one evening required. General hours: Center is open from 8:30am-6:00pm Monday and Tuesday, and 8:30am-5:00pm Wednesday through Friday. Hours vary during the summer, peak times, and break periods.
