Job DescriptionOur client, a well-known home goods supplier, is looking for an eCommerce Copywriter to join their team on an ongoing, open-ended freelance basis starting within the next few weeks. This role is 35 hours per week and requires onsite work in Manhattan Tuesday through Thursday.Who we're seeking:2-5 years of professional experience with a portfolio that reflects iteCommerce and/or consumer goods focusUnderstands the difference between writing well and writing to sellStrong grasp of English grammar and instinct for when to break the rulesPersuasive, tenacious, curious, down-to-earth, and ego-freeSelf-starter who collaborates well with design and PM teamsWhat you'll be doing:Write cohesive, SEO-optimized brand and product messaging in the company's tone of voice, especially ecommerce copy (approximately 30 products per month) for Amazon, Walmart, and TargetCrosstrain to write copy across Packaging, Digital (Paid/Organic Social, Email), Video, and Retail SignageDifferentiate 1700+ products from each other and competitors to reduce friction and drive purchaseEnsure all copy aligns with brand Style Guidelines for punctuation, capitalization, and grammarHelp maintain the brand Style Guide for consistent grammar and punctuationReview retailer-submitted copy for brand consistencyProofread all eCommerce writing and assigned projects from other mediumsIn this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
