Controls Designer – AutoCAD Electrical
Contract-to-Hire | Blaine, MN | $35–$45/hour

We are seeking a Controls Designer with strong AutoCAD Electrical skills to join our engineering team. In this role, you will create detailed electrical design packages for industrial automation and control systems. This is a contract-to-hire position with competitive pay and long-term growth potential.

Responsibilities:

• Create and update electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical
• Develop bills of materials (BOMs) and ensure documentation accuracy
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and panel builders to meet project specifications
• Interpret customer requirements and integrate them into designs
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and NFPA 79 standards
• Support panel fabrication, assembly, and commissioning processes
• Maintain organized project files and revision control

Qualifications:

• 3+ years in controls or electrical design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, and industrial automation components
• Familiarity with NEC, UL, and NFPA standards
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
