Head Chef – Japanese Concept

📍 Koreatown, NYC

💰 $93,000–$125,000 + Performance Bonus

Join a  vibrant, growing restaurant group in the heart of Koreatown! We are seeking a  Head Chef to lead the kitchen of our hip, casual Japanese restaurant. This is an incredible opportunity to bring creativity, leadership, and passion for Japanese cuisine to a concept that is part of a  highly successful hospitality group .

You must be authorized to work in the USA and ideally already working in NYC.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and inspire a team of ~15 BOH employees across locations.
• Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu execution, food quality, and cost control.
• Collaborate closely with the General Manager to ensure seamless service and an outstanding guest experience.
• Manage BOH scheduling — while consecutive days off are not guaranteed, you’ll have the flexibility to arrange your schedule as long as the kitchen is running smoothly.
• Foster a positive, professional culture that emphasizes consistency, teamwork, and growth.
• Uphold health, sanitation, and safety standards at the highest level.

What We’re Looking For

• A passionate culinary leader with strong Japanese cuisine experience (yakitori, izakaya, ramen, sushi, etc.).
• Proven ability to manage, train, and mentor BOH staff in a high-volume NYC environment.
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on execution, consistency, and cost management.
• A collaborative spirit — able to work closely with FOH leadership and ownership.
• A creative mindset and excitement for contributing to the restaurant’s evolving vision.
