TITLE: Billing Specialist

REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Fiscal Compliance

Pay Range:$55,000 to $65,000

POSITION SUMMARY:

Remote Position

The Billing Specialist is responsible to see that assigned billing functions are performed accurately and in a timely manner. She/he is responsible to ensure that billing functions are conducted in accordance with Marquis Certified Home Care policies and procedures, State/Federal and payer regulations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists, as requested, in developing and implementing plans to improve the billing process.
• Ensures that assigned billing functions are accurately completed within designated time frame.
• Responsible for portion of CHHA billing and knowledgeable about LHCSA billing
• Responsible for follow up on payments not received within 30 days. Reports status of outstanding accounts receivable to Supervisor
• Assists with CHHA Accounts Receivable as requested. Input information and process payment. Fill out deposit slips and take deposits to bank as needed.
• Input CHHA Accounts Payable information into system to be ready for payment. Mail out payments when checks are processed.
• Serve as primary back up for CHHA payroll.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information.
• Assists as requested with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) start up and integration of back office tasks
• Other responsibilities, as deemed by the Coordinator of Fiscal Compliance and Director of Patient Services, for the smooth operation of the agency.
• LHCSA Billing experience a plus

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Home Care Experience Is a MUST

Home Care and Home Base experience is a MUST

Strong phone/communication skills

Familiarity with medical billing policies

Computer skills

Experience with Certified Home Health and Licensed Home Health care billing

Experience with Medicare and Medicaid billing

Education: HS Diploma
