Business Analyst / Tester

Optum Analyst/Tester
100% Remote CST/EST preferred (7:30/8am ET start time)
12 month contract (likely to extend or convert)

Project Overview:

• Transitions team is migrating customer communications (letters) from a decommissioning system (Argon Agency) to an in-house solution using Quadient Inspire .
• The goal is to analyze, validate, and ensure accurate reproduction of these communications during the transition.
• This is a fast-paced, accelerated timeline project requiring strong analytical and testing capabilities.

Role Summary:

This hybrid Business Analyst / Tester role will support the end-to-end QA process for transitioning communications. The individual will work closely with the Project Manager , Content Developer SMEs , and technical teams to ensure that letter outputs match business expectations and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing letters and communications in partnership with Content Developer SMEs.
• Define and write test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform hands-on testing to validate letter outputs against expected outcomes.
• Conduct apples-to-apples comparisons between base templates and Inspire-generated outputs.
• Identify and call out nuances, discrepancies, and clarifications in letter content and formatting.
• Understand and interpret data requirements , including static vs. variable data, and ensure correct data mapping.
• Map out and build end-to-end processes using tools like Visio .
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to:
  • Define business acceptance criteria.
  • Track and manage defects.
  • Support project documentation and scheduling.
• Coordinate with Inspire content developers to determine necessary test data and validate scenarios.
• Support process improvement efforts and maintain a capability mindset .

Team Structure:

• Navigator Leads requirement gathering and project coordination.
• Content Developer SME Owns template rules and Quadient development.
• BA/Tester (This Role) Owns analysis, testing, and validation.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 3+ years experience as a Business Analyst/Tester in a similar environment.
• Strong experience in writing and executing test scenarios .
• Proven ability to define and understand requirements , dependencies, and business outcomes.
• Experience with data mapping , interpreting data feeds, and validating variable content.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies .
• Experience working with Content Developers and technical teams.
• Ability to build Visio flows and process maps.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Quadient Inspire (not required; no direct development work in Quadient).
• Background in communications systems , especially transitioning between composition tools.
• Understanding of the technical build side of communications platforms.
