Job Summary:
A Medical-Surgical Nurse provides direct care to patients in a general medical and surgical setting. These nurses manage a variety of medical conditions, assist with post- ope rative recovery, and perform assessments, administer medications, and ensure the comfort and well-being of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.
Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.
Provide pre ope rative and post ope rative care to patients, including wound care and administering pain medications.
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, and dressing.
Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and families.
M edical Administration:
Administer prescribed medications and treatments, observing for side effects or reactions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Col lab or ate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans.

Monitoring and Reporting:

Patient Education:

Infection Control and Safety:

Emergency Response:

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Licensure: Valid state RN license.
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) may be required .
Experience: Previous experience in a medical-surgical unit is often preferred.
