Go Outdoors, a premier platform in the outdoor recreation industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Accounting to join our growing team. We specialize in acquiring, developing, and operating marinas, deluxe RV resorts, and innovative entertainment hubs across the United States. As the Vice President of Accounting, you will lead our accounting and finance department, ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization. Reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will have a significant impact on our financial operations and contribute to our mission of providing unforgettable outdoor experiences for our guests.

What you'll be doing

As the Vice President of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and compliance within our organization. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership to the organization, working closely with the executive team to drive financial success and achieve business objectives.
  • Accounting Supervision: Supervise and lead the accounting team, including accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
  • Month-End Closing: Execute strong month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Cash Management: Assume primary decision-making responsibilities for cash management, including daily cash reserves, cash-flow projections, and optimizing cash utilization.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and yearly financial reports for executive management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information and insights effectively to upper management, banking partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Audit and Compliance: Assist in audit preparations and ensure compliance with auditing and regulatory processes.
  • Policy and Controls: Establish and enforce financial policies, internal controls, and operational best practices.
  • Budgeting: Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting processes, financial analysis, and risk management initiatives.

What you'll bring along

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required; an Accounting Degree is preferred.
  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting.
  • History of acquisition experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, including Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Enterprise.
  • Strong knowledge of Work in Process (WIP) accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical business deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information confidently.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement recommendations.
  • Previous experience in team leadership and mentorship is essential.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial laws, tax filings, and reporting requirements.
